Sending to a notary with Legaliza: notary details and protected documents
When you send a document to a notary from Legale with Legaliza, the Despapeliza API that connects you with notary offices, the workflow asks for a note for the notary and protects documents that are already in the notarial process. These improvements prevent errors and make sure each request reaches the notary with the context it needs. Despapeliza is not a notary office: authorization is always done by a notary.
How sending to a notary works
- You create the document in Legale.
- It’s signed with an Advanced Electronic Signature (FEA).
- The jurisdiction is validated: the system identifies the corresponding notary office based on the signer’s location.
- The notary authorizes the document online.
Legaliza currently connects with notary offices in 11 jurisdictions in Chile. You can see which ones, and which documents can be sent, in Notary connection.
Required details for the notary
Before completing the workflow to the notary, Legale asks you to write a description in the Details for the notary field. That way each request arrives with a note explaining what it’s about, which improves communication with the notary office, request tracking and document accuracy.
Documents sent to a notary can’t be deleted
While a document is in the notarial process, the Delete button doesn’t appear. If you need to withdraw it, you must ask the notary office to reject the document.
First we added a notice that explained this when someone tried to delete a document sent to a notary. Then we improved the behavior and hid the button for as long as the process lasts. This avoids confusion and keeps documents intact within the notarial process.
Which documents you can send
With Legale you can sign and send to a notary labor, commercial, legal, real estate and vehicle documents, as long as the corresponding notary office is connected. The help center guide Documents you can sign digitally and send to a notary (in Spanish) has the full list.
