What’s new in Legale: May 2026
On May 14, 2026 we released a Legale update with two new features and eleven fixes. We improved the remote signing QR code, added a new entry to the security log and fixed errors in smart documents, forms, folders and SFTP sync.
At a glance
- Remote signing: a sharper QR code that’s easier to scan.
- Security log: records changes made with Update content.
- Smart documents and forms: six fixes in attachments, dates and calculations.
- Folders and files: three fixes in downloads, previews and searches.
- SFTP: two fixes when receiving and syncing files.
New features
A sharper QR code for remote signing
The remote signing QR code has better quality and more contrast, reads better with a phone camera and fails less often when scanned. This makes it easier to access remote signing workflows.
The security log records Update content
Every time someone modifies a document with the Update content function, the change is recorded in the security log. This improves auditing and tracking of document changes.
Fixes
Smart documents and forms
- Attachment variables are no longer saved as “object” after submitting a form: attachments keep their name, can be viewed and downloaded, and created files open without being corrupted.
- Smart document dates no longer show the time, unless the field is set to include it.
- Preview calculations, such as totals and VAT, update even when fields are empty, without having to type 0.
- The value 0 is shown in the preview of calculated fields.
- “Invalid date” no longer appears when choosing valid dates in a form.
- Conditional images finish loading in the automation preview.
Folders and files
- Folders downloaded as ZIP no longer arrive empty.
- Documents in Uploaded status show a preview, whether they were uploaded manually or via API.
- Search finds folders by name.
SFTP
- SFTP receives and processes files with long names or characters such as #.
- SFTP sync no longer returns a 400 error when importing CSV or PDF files.
