What’s new in Legale: May to September 2025

This summary brings together the Legale release notes published between May and September 2025. Most changes came with the late-August update, which brought four improvements and fourteen fixes. In September, the RUT field arrived in contacts and administrator profiles, along with an API method to email signed copies.

September 2025

“RUT” in contacts for Chilean accounts

In Chilean accounts, the field previously called “Document ID” now appears as RUT throughout the application: when creating or editing a contact, assigning signers, in search and in lists.

RUT field in administrator profiles

Administrator profiles have a RUT field with the same rules as users: format, normalization and check-digit validation.

API: send a signed copy to an email

A new API method emails a copy of the signed document to the address you specify, without giving that person access to the platform. You can include the evidence and customize the subject and message. See the API documentation.

August 2025

Certificate and Notifications, now in Settings

Certificate and Notifications left the side menu and moved to Settings, where the other settings are. In Settings → Certificate you manage cloud or local certificates and their passwords; in Settings → Notifications you define templates, rules and conditional notifications. Permissions don’t change; only the menu location did.

“Reassign” for folders and files

The action to move items to another user is called Reassign everywhere. Before, it said “Transfer” for folders and “Reassign” for files, even though both did the same.

Simple and advanced signature filters in Pending

When opening Pending from the dashboard there are two new filters, Simple signature and Advanced signature, in addition to Approve or reject, Pending deletion and All. Click the Pending card, choose the filter and press Next.

“evidence_” prefix on evidence downloads

When you download a document’s evidence, the file name starts with evidence_ followed by the original name, for example evidence_Contract.pdf. This keeps it from being confused with the document and makes it easier to find during an audit.

August fixes

• Scheduled notifications arrive at the chosen time, based on the user’s time zone.
• A signer can be removed while the workflow is paused, as long as they haven’t signed yet. The workflow, audit log and notifications update automatically.
• When uploading a cloud certificate, only .pfx or .p12 files are accepted, and other formats are rejected with a clear message.
• The expiration date picker no longer lets you choose or save past dates, including via API.
• Applying a saved workflow to a new document copies all its steps, assignees, rules and due dates.
• Starting the chat or sending a request no longer leaves the screen blank.
• Approvals made via API are recorded correctly and the status updates instantly.
• Signers can open the document from the signing link in the email.
• FEA enrollment for cloud signing no longer fails when verifying identity or creating the PIN. We explain the process in Cloud advanced electronic signature.
• A rejected document no longer shows as In progress.
• .zip files can be uploaded.
• On mobile, the CSV automations view scrolls sideways.
• Resetting the password no longer fails.
• The button to duplicate folders says “Duplicate folder”, to make clear what it copies.
