What’s new in Legale: July 2026

On July 22, 2026 we released a large Legale update with three new features and nineteen fixes. The improvements focus on generated documents, folder downloads and signing workflows, and add a new variable to identify each document.

New features

{{GUID}} variable in smart documents

You can insert the {{GUID}} variable in a smart document template. When the document is generated, it’s replaced with its unique ID (GUID). It’s useful to identify documents, connect them with other systems, audit them or use them as an external reference.

Edit validators in workflows

Validators configured with Legale users have an Edit button. You can now change the user and their conditions without deleting the validator and creating it again, which makes updating validation rules faster.

Migration API with Excel and CSV files

The migration API accepts Excel and CSV files natively. Files sent in Base64 keep their original type instead of being processed as PDF, so they are stored, downloaded and opened correctly after the migration.

Fixes

Smart documents and generated documents

• Page margins were too wide and caused unexpected page breaks. They were adjusted so pagination matches between the editor, the preview and the generated document.
• The generated document has the same number of pages as the preview.
• Conditional visibility is respected: variables with conditions appear when they are met, in forms, generated documents and automations.
• The “Hidden” or “None” border style is applied in generated documents.
• File names that include a RUT variable are no longer truncated on download.

Forms

• The preview shows the data entered in the form, so you can review it before generating or sending the document.

Folders and downloads

• Downloading a folder keeps its subfolder structure.
• Folders with many documents download without errors and without the wrong VPN warning.
• Users with access to shared folders can update CSVs, but only download them if the folder permissions allow it.
• The Update content button appears again on PDF documents.

Signatures and workflows

• When signing several documents with a cloud certificate, a duplicate Sign button no longer appears.
• In simultaneous signing workflows, the person signing with a cloud certificate keeps their turn after the remote signer signs.
• Documents no longer expire before their expiration date while still showing as In progress.
• Adding a contact from a workflow no longer leaves the page blank.

Integrations

• The Send to BUK integration no longer returns a 500 error when searching for workers by RUT.

Other fixes

• Compliance reports return results consistent with the date filters.
• In My Tickets you can create a ticket with or without an attachment.
• The print icon opens the preview and the print window again.
• The mobile app no longer signs you out on its own, so you can keep working with your documents.
