What’s new in Legale: September 2026
In September 2026 we released two Legale updates, on September 4 and 29, with six new features and seven fixes. The most important changes are that the advanced signature API can now sign with the signer’s details, without creating a contact first, and that large CSV files are processed in the background.
At a glance
- Advanced signature API: you can start an FEA signature with the signer’s first name, last names and RUT.
- Identity verification for the advanced signature: a screen explains the bank transfer before you make it.
- Data Management: new Allow View All permission to see and edit other users’ records.
- CSV: resyncing folders with large files runs in the background.
- Audit Trail: a new dashboard and a traceability column.
- My Tickets: ticket details show more user and contact information.
- Seven fixes in dates, bulk downloads, forms, Data Management and the support assistant.
New features
Advanced signature API: sign with the signer’s details
The advanced electronic signature (FEA) API now lets you start a signature directly with the signer details included in the request, without creating or linking a Legale contact. This simplifies integrations. The changes are:
- With
sign_method: "fea", thefirstname,lastname1andlastname2fields are required. - A
rutfield was added for identity verification, in the format11111111-1. contactorcontactIdare no longer required for FEA signatures.- The
POST /v1/sign/startdocumentation was updated with these requirements.
We explain it in Advanced signature via API.
Identity verification for the advanced signature: notice before the transfer
Before taking the user to the external transfer page, the advanced identity verification for the FEA shows a screen explaining that a bank transfer is required to complete the verification, that the amount transferred is refunded within 24 to 48 hours, and that you must choose Continue to proceed to the transfer. See why a bank transfer is required.
Data Management: new Allow View All permission
User profiles have a new permission, Allow View All, for Data Management. Whoever has it can see all Data Management records, regardless of who created them, and edit them with the same capabilities as the process owner. More in Data Management in Legale.
CSV: large files are processed in the background
When you resync a folder, the CSV update now runs in the background, so a large file no longer blocks or slows down your session. When it starts you’ll see a message saying the process is running and, when it finishes successfully, you receive a confirmation email.
Audit Trail: new dashboard and traceability column
The audit section is now called Audit Trail and adds:
- a panel with the number of documents generated for download,
- a record of downloaded ZIP files,
- a panel with the number of documents sent, and
- a Traceability column to review the traceability of each record.
My Tickets: more information in the details
Each ticket’s details in My Tickets show user and contact information dynamically, so you have the full context when reviewing it.
Fixes
Dates in regional format
Date variables were shown as MM/DD/YYYY. They now use the regional format: DD/MM/YYYY for the standard date and “day of month of year” for the long date, for example “2 de septiembre de 2026”. This avoids confusion in generated documents.
Bulk downloads with clear names
Bulk downloads created a folder with a long temporary name containing an internal identifier, and could truncate document names, including those with a RUT. The folder now has a clear, standard name and each file keeps its full name.
Forms with attachments in automations
In Forms Engine forms sent by automation, with an attachment variable configured with the Create New File method, the first participant could complete their part, but the next one got a service error. Several participants can now complete the form one after another, attachments included, without breaking the automation.
Data Management: edited records are saved
When you edited a Data Management record and saved, the data was erased or left blank. Edited information is now saved and kept.
Forms: Save as Draft keeps the data
When choosing Save as Draft, the form was saved but without the field information. The data is now saved, and you can come back later to finish the form.
Forms: correct flag for Spanish
Choosing Spanish in a form’s language selector showed the Chilean flag. It now shows the Spanish flag, which matches the configured language.
The support assistant answers in your language
The support assistant, then called Cloudia and now the AI Assistant, answered in English even if you wrote in another language. It now detects the language of your question and replies in that same language.
